Hobba Cafe, a well-established and fast-paced venue in Prahran, is seeking a qualified and passionate Chef to join our team on a full-time basis. We pride ourselves on high-quality food and a vibrant atmosphere. Task & responsibilities

• Prepare, season, and cook high-quality dishes according to Hobba’s standards.
• Assist in menu planning, creation, and costing.
• Oversee kitchen operations and coordinate with the team to ensure efficient service.
• Monitor and maintain food quality, presentation, and portion control.
• Estimate food requirements and manage stock/inventory orders.
• Supervise and train junior kitchen staff and apprentices.
• Ensure strict compliance with food safety, hygiene (HACCP), and OHS regulations.

Qualification & experience

• Qualifications: Relevant trade qualification (e.g., Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent).
• Experience: A minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience as a Chef in a high-volume, fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, menu design, and kitchen management.
• Attributes: You must be self-motivated, creative, and a confident leader who enjoys working in a collaborative team environment.
• Availability: Must be available to work a flexible full-time roster, including weekends and public holidays.
