Task & responsibilities

Preparing and cooking a variety of Greek and Mediterranean dishes, including grilled meats, souvlaki, gyros, salads, and traditional menu items
Assisting in daily kitchen operations and food preparation activities
Ensuring food is prepared and presented to high quality standards
Monitoring portion control, food preparation, and plating consistency
Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of kitchen and food preparation areas
Ensuring compliance with food safety, hygiene, and workplace health regulations
Checking freshness and quality of ingredients and food supplies
Assisting with stock rotation, storage, and inventory management
Operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
Supporting kitchen staff during busy service periods
Minimising food wastage and maintaining cost-effective kitchen practices
Following kitchen procedures and maintaining consistent food quality standards

Qualification & experience

Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or related qualification preferred
Minimum 1 years of relevant work experience in a commercial kitchen or restaurant environment may substitute for formal qualifications
Experience preparing Mediterranean or Greek cuisine preferred
Good understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced hospitality environment
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Ability to manage time effectively during busy service periods
Passion for quality food preparation and customer satisfaction
