Task & responsibilities

  • Designing menus, calculating food and staffing expenses, and managing the procurement of ingredients and kitchen supplies
  • Supervising the quality and consistency of dishes throughout preparation, cooking, and presentation
  • Coordinating with Managers, Dieticians, and front- and back-of-house staff regarding food preparation and kitchen operations
  • Showcasing culinary methods and providing guidance on cooking techniques and procedures
  • Preparing, cooking, and presenting a range of food items to required standards
  • Ensuring compliance with food safety and hygiene standards within the kitchen environment
  • Assisting with the recruitment, supervision, and training of kitchen staff where required
  • Overseeing the storage, freezing, and preservation of food products to maintain freshness and quality

Qualification & experience

  • Min Certificate IV Commercial Cookery qualification or equivalent industry experience
  • Diploma in Hospitality Management
  • Solid knife skills, knowledge of cooking principles and techniques
  • Passion & drive to deliver high quality consistent food to our customers.
  • Ability to work a 7-day rotating roster.
  • Good written & verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Good organizational & time management skills.
  • Must be motivated, hardworking & have a good attitude.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a busy kitchen, to meet deadlines.
  • Previous experience in a commercial kitchen environment preferred but not essential.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Australian Work Rights Required. 

Availability to work at least  38 hours/week, as this role is a full-time permanent position. Work in person.
