Task & responsibilities

• Assist with menu planning while contributing to the control of food and labour expenses

• Oversee food preparation processes to maintain consistency and high-quality standards

• Inspect the quality of food throughout preparation and plating stages

• Prepare and cook dishes to a high professional standard

• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, hygiene practices, and kitchen cleanliness standards

• Properly store and preserve ingredients and prepared food items to maintain quality and minimise spoilage

• Manage stock ordering, storage, and inventory control to minimise wastage

• Coordinate effectively with kitchen and front-of-house teams to support efficient service operations

• Provide guidance and assistance to kitchen staff as required

• Support the training of staff members and share culinary knowledge and techniques

• Contribute to the development of new menu items and enhancement of existing dishes

Qualification & experience

• Relevant qualification in Commercial Cookery or Hospitality (Certificate IV or higher) 
• At least 1 year of experience working as a Chef in a busy kitchen 
• Strong skills in cooking, menu planning, and managing kitchen operations
