An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Chef to join Forktales Tapas and Grill, a modern fusion restaurant known for its globally inspired tapas and share plates. This role is ideal for a creative and driven professional who can lead kitchen operations, contribute to menu innovation, and maintain high standards of quality and consistency. Task & responsibilities

  • Plan menus in collaboration with management, including seasonal updates and new dish development
  • Estimate food and labour costs and assist with ordering and stock control
  • Monitor the quality of dishes in line with menu and business standards
  • Discuss food preparation and service requirements with Managers and front-of-the-house staff
  • Demonstrate advanced cooking techniques and provide guidance to kitchen staff
  • Ensure strict adherence to food safety, hygiene, and workplace health regulations
  • Train, supervise, and support kitchen staff, including apprentices
  • Manage food storage, freezing and preservation processes

Qualification & experience

  • Relevant qualification
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience as a Chef in a commercial kitchen (fusion or modern cuisine highly regarded)
  • Proven experience in menu planning and kitchen supervision
  • Strong knowledge of food safety standards and HACCP principles
  • Ability to lead a team and work efficiently under pressure
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays
