Task & responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a variety of Indian dishes to the highest standards, ensuring consistency and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
• Collaborate with the kitchen team to develop and implement new menu items, incorporating seasonal and locally sourced ingredients
• Maintain a clean, organised and efficient kitchen environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations
• Assist with inventory management, ordering supplies and managing kitchen costs
• Mentor and train junior kitchen staff, sharing your expertise and fostering a positive, learning-focused environment

Qualification & experience

• Minimum 3 years experience as a Chef in a high-volume, fast-paced restaurant environment (ideally with extensive experience in Indian cuisine)
• Hold at least a Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery
• Excellent culinary skills and an understanding of Indian food preparation, presentation and flavour profiles
• Strong time management and multitasking abilities to thrive in a busy kitchen
• Passion for using fresh, seasonal ingredients to create innovative and delicious dishes
• Commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with the kitchen and front-of-house staff
