Resort Toowoomba Pty Ltd trading as Curry Resort Toowoomba is seeking an experienced and motivated Cook to join our busy kitchen team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of quality meals while maintaining high standards of food presentation, cleanliness, and kitchen operations. You will work in a fast-paced hospitality environment and contribute to delivering exceptional dining experiences for our customers

Task & responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook a variety of dishes in accordance with recipes and business standards
  • Assist in food preparation activities including cutting, chopping, marinating, and portioning ingredients
  • Ensure consistent food quality, taste, and presentation across all meals
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen, storage, and food preparation areas
  • Follow food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety procedures at all times
  • Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering supplies and stock rotation
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
  • Work closely with chefs and other kitchen staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations during service periods
  • Assist in reducing food wastage through proper handling, storage, and portion control
  • Support the kitchen team during busy periods to maintain efficient service and customer satisfaction

Qualification & experience

  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in a commercial kitchen or hospitality environment
  • Relevant qualification such as Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent preferred
  • Sound knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations
  • Understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Reliable, organised, and passionate about hospitality and food preparation
