Description:

Coffee Culture is seeking a skilled and passionate Chef to join its kitchen team. The business is known for serving quality meals using fresh ingredients and delivering a welcoming dining experience to customers. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality dishes, maintaining consistency in taste and presentation, and ensuring food safety and hygiene standards are followed at all times. The Chef will work closely with the team to support smooth kitchen operations and deliver excellent customer experiences. Previous experience in a similar role and a passion for cooking are essential.

Task & responsibilities

  • Design and plan menus, calculate food and labour costs, and manage the ordering and procurement of ingredients and kitchen supplies.
  • Ensure consistently high standards of food quality, taste, and presentation throughout preparation and service.
  • Prepare and cook a wide range of dishes in line with established recipes, portion guidelines, and service expectations.
  • Collaborate with management and kitchen team members to maintain efficient daily kitchen operations and smooth service flow.
  • Supervise kitchen activities to ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, sanitation, and workplace health and safety standards.
  • Train, mentor, and support kitchen staff to uphold consistency and professional culinary standards.
  • Manage food storage, stock rotation, and preservation practices to reduce waste and maintain freshness.
  • Assist in menu innovation and continuous improvement of food offerings to enhance customer satisfaction and support business growth.


Qualification & experience

  • Minimum of Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent work experience. 
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in related position.
  • In-depth knowledge of cooking techniques, ingredients, and kitchen operations. 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
