Task & responsibilities

Examine foodstuff to ensure quality, freshness, and consistency
Regulate temperatures of ovens, grills, and other cooking equipment
Prepare and cook a variety of dishes in line with our menu and standards
Season food appropriately during preparation and cooking
Portion and plate dishes with attention to presentation, including sauces and garnishes
Store food in temperature-controlled facilities in accordance with food safety standards
Prepare meals to meet special requirements where required
Assist with menu planning and estimating food requirements
Supporting the training and supervision of junior kitchen staff and apprentices

Qualification & experience

Relevant qualification in Commercial Cookery
Previous experience working in a busy kitchen environment (fusion or modern cuisine highly regarded)
Knowledge of various cooking methods and techniques
Ability to work well under pressure and in a team environment
Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
Excellent communication and time management skills
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays
