Alpine Trading Pty Ltd T/A Buffalo Hotel is looking for a passionate Chef to join our team in Myrtleford, Victoria. The role involves preparing high-quality meals, maintaining kitchen hygiene standards, managing food preparation, and working efficiently in a fast-paced environment while delivering excellent customer experiences.

Task & responsibilities

• Planning menus, managing food and labour costs, and coordinating food supply orders
• Ensuring high-quality presentation and preparation standards for all dishes
• Collaborating with managers, dietitians, kitchen, and service staff on food preparation matters
• Demonstrating cooking techniques and providing guidance on preparation procedures
• Preparing and cooking a variety of dishes efficiently and consistently
• Maintaining and enforcing food safety and hygiene standards
• Assisting with staff selection and training when required
• Managing food storage, including freezing and preservation methods

Qualification & experience

• Certificate III level qualification in Hospitality/Kitchen Management (Certificate IV and Diploma will be highly regarded)
• At least 2-3 years experience in a similar role
• Extensive experience in the fast-paced kitchen environment
• Strong Culinary skills with knowledge of contemporary cooking techniques
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and OH&S.
