Task & responsibilities

  • Lead, guide and inspire the kitchen team to deliver the best results.
  • Prepare and cook meals and supervise the preparation of meals by kitchen staff.
  • Manage kitchen consumables, stock takes, ordering, cost control and budgeting.
  • Develop, test, and introduce new menu items.
  • Compliance with OH&S and Food Safety standards
  • Work alongside the management team

Qualification & experience

  • Possess excellent relevant post-secondary hospitality (cooking) qualifications, to at least Certificate IV/Diploma level.
  • Have at least 1 to 2 years professional experience since earning your qualifications.
  • Are available across the working week including weekends and nights.
  • Offer proven ability to prioritise, set goals and have the determination to achieve them.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of food safety and HACCP.
  • Understand cost control, time management, prioritization, and cost-efficient procurement practices.
  • Have substantial experience working in a similar role / cuisine / environment.
  • You are an excellent people manager, with great comms skills, able to get the most out of your team.
  • Offer unrestricted full time Australian working rights.
