Mr Wabi Pty Ltd t/as Mr Wabi is currently seeking an experienced and motivated Cook to join our busy Asian Fusion restaurant located in the heart of Brisbane CBD. This is a full-time position with a five-day working week. Applicants must be reliable, motivated and passionate about food and hospitality. Salary: $77,000 – $80,000 plus superannuation
• Preparing, seasoning and cooking a variety of Asian Fusion dishes
• Assisting in the planning and development of menus
• Monitoring food quality at all stages of preparation and presentation
• Maintaining high standards of food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness
• Regulating oven, grill and other cooking temperatures
• Portioning food and ensuring consistency in presentation
• Assisting with stock control, food storage and ordering supplies
• Inspecting food ingredients and equipment to ensure quality standards are met
• Working collaboratively with kitchen staff during busy service periods
• Following workplace health and safety and food safety procedures
• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification and/or relevant industry experience.
• Minimum 1–2 years’ experience as a Cook in a commercial kitchen
• Wok cooking experience is essential
• Experience preparing Asian Fusion cuisine is highly regarded
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work under pressure and maintain quality standards
• Good understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
