Kchefs Pty Ltd trading as ParkBongSook Restaurant is seeking a skilled and passionate Chef to join its growing kitchen team. Known for delivering authentic Korean cuisine with a focus on traditional flavours, fresh ingredients, and house-made side dishes, the restaurant offers a unique and vibrant dining experience across its multiple locations in Australia . The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality dishes, maintaining consistency in taste and presentation, and ensuring strict food safety and hygiene standards are followed. The Chef will work closely with the team to support smooth kitchen operations and deliver exceptional dining experiences. Previous experience in a similar role and a passion for Korean cuisine are essential.

Task & responsibilities

• Plan and design menus, estimate food and labour costs, and manage the ordering and procurement of ingredients and kitchen supplies.
• Monitor and maintain the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation, cooking, and presentation.
• Collaborate with management, dietitians, and kitchen and service staff to coordinate food production and service requirements.
• Demonstrate cooking techniques and provide guidance to kitchen staff on preparation methods and established standards.
• Prepare and cook menu items in accordance with recipes, ensuring consistency, quality, and timely service.
• Enforce and maintain strict compliance with hygiene, food safety, and workplace health and safety regulations.
• Assist with the recruitment, training, and supervision of kitchen staff where required.
• Oversee proper food storage, preservation, and handling procedures, including freezing and stock rotation practices.

Qualification & experience

• Minimum of Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent work experience. 
• Minimum 1 year of experience in related position.
• In-depth knowledge of cooking techniques, ingredients, and kitchen operations. 
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
