About us:

The Nursing Director functions as a member of the Integrated Medicine, Emergency, Child & Youth (IMECYS) Management team at Cairns Hospital. In this role you will take provides overall planning, coordination, formulation and direction of policies relating to the provision of clinical care, as well as for the efficient and effective use of human and material resources for emergency services in Cairns Hospital. The Nursing Director role is responsible for several key measures and priorities pertaining to improved patient access targets.

About your opportunity:

In this position you will….

  • Be responsible for nursing/midwifery activities for emergency services in Cairns Hospital and contribute to the strategic and operational policy developments and implementation.
  • Act as an expert professional resource resolving complex, clinical, governance, operational and ethical challenges.
  • Facilitate a learning environment by sharing knowledge and expertise, directing and monitoring strategies that support and promote education, learning, research and workforce development.
