👩‍🍳 Cook Wanted – Woodville Day Nursery & Kindergarten 👩‍🍳

Woodville Day Nursery & Kindergarten is seeking a caring, enthusiastic and reliable Cook to join our team.

Candidates must be Australian permanent residents to be eligible for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and prepare nutritious, balanced meals and snacks for children aged 6 weeks to school age.

A valid Working with Children Check is required before commencing employment.

• Work with Woolworths for Work Online.

• Adhere to dietary requirements and preferences, including allergies and cultural considerations.

• Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic kitchen environment in compliance with regulatory council and company guidelines.

A Food Safety Certificate must be obtained within 3 months of starting the role.

• Collaborate with early childhood educators to ensure meal times are a positive and educational experience.

• Plan meals for special occasions such as book week, Easter, and Christmas, as well as simple grab-and-go snacks on Mother's Day and Father's Day.

• Manage kitchen inventory, order supplies, and ensure cost-effective food production.

• Keep up-to-date with early childhood nutrition trends and regulations.

Childcare nutrition training is required to ensure appropriate meal planning for children's developmental needs.

A minimum of 1-2 years commercial cooking experience is required for this position.
