$60,000 - $80,000 Annual

Job Duties/Responsibilites:

  • Clinical Treatment:

    Correct usage of suction, passing instruments and materials, mixing techniques, knowledge of instrumentation.

  • Prepare Treatment Room:

    Prepare the treatment room for the daily procedures

  • Patient Interaction: 

    Welcomes patients. Accompanies patients into treatment rooms.

    Knowledge of all procedures and scripts so that they can Pre-brief or Debrief patients.

    Try not to leave the patient unattended in the chair

    Complete patients chart indicating procedure done today and what procedure is to be completed at the next visit

    Update patient’s health history and patient information semi-annually

    Escort patients from the treatment room

    Asks for referrals when appropriate

  • Materials:

    Prepares and delivers materials at dentist’s direction

  • Clean & Prepare Treatment Room

    Cleans and prepares treatment room ready for next patient in line with the practice’s infection control protocol

  • Contaminated Instruments

    Responsible for processing of contaminated instruments and equipment

  • X-Rays

    Develops, mounts, labels and files patients x-rays

  • Supplies

    Monitors and orders supplies as needed

  • Dental Team

    Develops working relationship with the dental team

  • Office Staff

    Assists office staff when needed

  • Time procedures when required by dentist
  • Objection handling

    Has objection handling skills

Qualities/Skills/Experience:

  • Must have at least 1-2 years previous on-the-job experience;
  • Cert III or Cert IV in Dental Assisting or similar qualification preferred;
  • Must possess good communication skills, people management skills and ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
