Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced and compassionate Enrolled Nurse to deliver high-quality nursing care across various healthcare settings, including aged care, mental health, welfare, and community services. The role requires working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, ensuring the best possible patient outcomes.

Task & responsibilities

Patient Care & Support

Provide high-quality nursing care to elderly residents, ensuring their health and well-being.
Assist residents with daily activities, including hygiene, mobility, dressing, and toileting.
Administer prescribed medications safely and monitor their effects.
Observe and report changes in residents' physical and mental health to the Registered Nurse or medical team.
Support residents with chronic conditions, dementia, and palliative care needs.

Clinical Duties

Perform wound care, catheter care, and other clinical procedures under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
Assist with assessments, care planning, and implementation of individualized care plans.
Monitor vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and oxygen levels.
Collect specimens for diagnostic testing as required.
Assist in emergency response situations and provide first aid when necessary.

Collaboration & Communication

Work closely with Registered Nurses, doctors, allied health professionals, and carers to deliver holistic care.
Communicate effectively with residents, families, and caregivers, ensuring their concerns and preferences are acknowledged.
Document care activities, progress notes, and incident reports accurately in compliance with facility policies and regulations.

Aged Care Standards & Compliance

Follow the Aged Care Quality Standards and Australian healthcare regulations.
Maintain infection control and workplace safety protocols.
Participate in accreditation audits, quality improvement programs, and staff training sessions.
Resident Well-being & Support
Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, promoting a person-centred approach to care.
Encourage residents’ participation in social and recreational activities to enhance their quality of life.
Respect residents' rights, dignity, and cultural preferences.
Training & Professional Development
Stay updated with industry best practices, aged care policies, and clinical guidelines.
Participate in ongoing professional development and training sessions.
Support and mentor junior staff and care workers as required.

Qualification & experience

Diploma in Enrolled Nursing or higher qualification.
At least 12 months of full-time work experience or equivalent part time or casual basis in Aged Care or related healthcare field is required.
Current registration with the AHPRA as an Enrolled Nurse.
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
