Full-Time Remedial Massage Therapist

We are seeking a qualified, enthusiastic, and experienced Remedial Massage Therapist to join our team on a full-time basis. In this role, you will provide high-quality remedial massage treatments to patients, often prior to their chiropractic consultations, working collaboratively to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Task & responsibilities

Your core clinical duties include:

• Massaging the soft tissues of the body, such as muscles, tendons, and ligaments, to assist healing and recovery.

• Administering deep tissue and remedial treatments tailored to promote relaxation, improve circulation, and relieve muscle tension.

• Assessing and treating specific soft tissue dysfunction, conducting basic physical assessments to identify areas requiring treatment.

• Taking relevant patient history, recording clinical information, and assessing the client's physical condition.

• Advising on and assisting in the development of suitable stretching, strengthening, and relaxation exercises relevant to the patient’s condition.

• Utilising a range of massage techniques to enhance sports performance and prevent injury.

• Employing complementary aids such as heat packs, wet compresses, and essential oils where appropriate.

In addition to clinical care, you will assist with general clinic support and administrative

responsibilities, including:

• Communicating effectively with chiropractors regarding patient care before providing treatment.

• Booking patient appointments and processing payments.

• Locating and managing patient files.

• Preparing consulting rooms, including cleaning tables, supplying fresh gowns, and refilling massage oils.

• Escorting patients to treatment rooms.

Qualification & experience

To be successful in this role, applicants must meet the Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) requirements and demonstrate the following:

• Qualifications: A relevant qualification in Remedial Massage Therapy (minimum AQF Diploma of Remedial Massage or equivalent, aligning with ANZSCO Skill Level 2 requirements).

• Experience: Demonstrated professional industry experience as a Remedial Massage Therapist.
