The Aquaculture or Fisheries Technician will assist in the management of aquatic stock, monitor environmental conditions, maintain equipment and infrastructure, and support daily operational activities to ensure efficient and sustainable production outcomes.

• Monitoring aquatic stock health, feeding programs and growth performance
• Collecting and recording water quality data including temperature, oxygen, salinity and pH levels
• Assisting with breeding, hatching, grading and stock handling procedures
• Maintaining tanks, cages, pumps, filtration systems and associated aquaculture equipment
• Identifying and reporting signs of disease, mortality or abnormal stock behaviour
• Administering treatments and assisting with biosecurity and quarantine procedures
• Monitoring feed usage and assisting with stock inventory and production records
• Assisting with harvesting, processing and transport preparation activities
• Ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety procedures and environmental standards
• Maintaining accurate operational and production records
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within aquaculture and fisheries operations
A relevant qualification in Aquaculture, Fisheries, Marine Science or a closely related field
At least 12 months of relevant full time work experience in aquaculture, fisheries or aquatic operations
Knowledge of aquatic animal husbandry, water quality monitoring and aquaculture systems
Ability to work outdoors and undertake physically demanding tasks when required
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Commitment to workplace safety and environmental sustainability
