Amuri Creek Fruit Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced and reliable Fruit Farm Machinery Operator to support day-to-day operations at our commercial strawberry farming enterprise in the Mount Barker region of Western Australia.

This role is responsible for operating and maintaining machinery used in strawberry production and general farm operations. The successful candidate will work closely with farm management to ensure planting, spraying, irrigation, harvesting and general property maintenance activities are completed efficiently and safely.

This is a practical, hands-on role suited to someone with experience operating machinery in a horticultural or farming environment.

Key Responsibilities

Operate tractors, sprayers, forklifts and other machinery used in strawberry production operations
Assist with soil preparation, planting, mulching, fertiliser application and irrigation activities
Operate spray equipment and assist with pest, weed and disease control programs in accordance with farm procedures
Transport harvested fruit, materials and equipment around the farm safely and efficiently
Conduct routine maintenance and basic repairs on machinery and equipment
Assist with harvesting operations and seasonal farm activities during peak production periods
Monitor machinery performance and report mechanical faults or operational issues to management
Support livestock activities on the property, including assisting with the movement and monitoring of sheep as required
Ensure all machinery and farm operations are conducted in accordance with workplace health and safety requirements

Skills and Experience

Experience operating tractors, spray equipment, forklifts or similar agricultural plant and equipment
Basic mechanical knowledge and ability to perform routine equipment maintenance
Understanding of safe chemical handling and agricultural workplace safety practices
Ability to work independently and follow operational schedules and instructions
Experience in horticultural production will be highly regarded
Experience working in mixed farming environments, including exposure to sheep operations, will be advantageous
