Agri Technician

Kilkerran Agriculture is a broadacre mixed cropping and livestock farming enterprise located in Mingenew, Western Australia. We are seeking an experienced Agricultural and Agritech Technician to support the day-to-day technical and operational requirements of our farming operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

•             Examining soil characteristics and assisting in determining the most effective cultivation approach, including the application of fertilisers and chemicals

•             Assisting in developing and implementing programs for planting, fertilising, harvesting and processing of crops to achieve optimum production outcomes

•             Identifying pests, weeds and other factors harmful to crops and livestock and assisting in devising methods of control

•             Monitoring livestock health, breeding, and production to gauge the effectiveness of husbandry programs

•             Operating, maintaining and servicing broadacre agricultural machinery and equipment, including the John Deere Combine Harvester, Air Seeder, MC truck and             associated implements

•             Collecting, organising and collating data for agronomic and animal husbandry purposes and preparing farm records and reports

•             Supporting the application of precision agricultural techniques and equipment in farm production activities

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• At least 3 years of relevant experience in mixed cropping and livestock farm operations, or an AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma in Agriculture or a related field
• Demonstrated experience in the operation of seeding rigs, harvesters, boom sprayers and associated broadacre machinery
• Sound mechanical skills and ability to maintain farm equipment
• Proven communication and farm management skills
• Ability to obtain or hold an MC truck license with required fatigue management certification
