Position Title: Vineyard Supervisor

Position Summary

The Vineyard Supervisor is responsible for supervising all aspects of vineyard operations to ensure efficient production, high-quality fruit output and compliance with operational standards. This role requires strong hands-on experience, combined with the ability to supervise staff, manage resources and maintain vineyard performance across all seasonal activities, year-round throughout our vineyards in the South West region of WA. This position reports directly to the Vineyard Manager.

Task & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily vineyard operations across all seasonal stages, including pruning, canopy management, cultivation, and harvest preparation 
  • Lead, train and supervise vineyard workers and contractors, ensuring productivity, safety, and quality standards are maintained 
  • Supervise vineyard work programs, including pruning schedules, shoot thinning, leaf removal, and harvest logistics 
  • Monitor vine health and implement pest and disease control measures, including managing spray programs in accordance with established protocols 
  • Operate and oversee the use, maintenance and servicing of vineyard machinery and equipment, including tractors, sprayer and mechanical harvesters 
  • Manage irrigation systems and support the maintenance of vineyard infrastructure such as trellising, fencing and water supply systems 
  • Monitor vineyard performance and contribute to improving yield, efficiency and fruit quality outcomes 
  • Maintain accurate operational records, including production data, spray records and maintenance logs 
  • Assist with vineyard development activities and continuous improvement initiatives 
  • Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements and safe operating procedures across all vineyard activities 

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Extensive hands-on vineyard experience, including responsibility for supervising staff or contractors 
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise vineyard operations across all stages of the production cycle 
  • Experience operating vineyard machinery and equipment, including tractors and spray units 
  • Strong understanding of pest and disease management, spray application, and vineyard quality standards 
  • Experience working in premium or quality-focused vineyard environments is highly regarded 
  • Ability to supervise teams, coordinate work programs, and manage competing priorities 
  • Ability to work full-time year -round
  • Current driver’s licence 


Qualification & experience

Qualifications

  • Hold at least a relevant AQF Cert III (or equivalent) including at least two years of on- the-job training or an AQF Cert IV (or equivalent), or
  • At least 3 years of relevant, full-time, experience may be substituted for the qualification listed above

Work Experience

  • At least 2 years of full-time, relevant work-experience where relevant, formal qualification held, or
  • At least 3 years of full-time, relevant work-experience where no relevant, formal qualification held.
