The opportunity
We are seeking qualified Maintenance and Mechanical Fitters, Electricians and Electrical Engineering Technicians to become integral parts to diverse maintenance teams. These roles are critical in ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of operations across various businesses, encompassing responsibilities in preventative maintenance, equipment repair, and continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities - Mechanical Engineering Technician
As a Mechanical Engineering Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring machinery and mechanical systems operate efficiently and reliably. You will apply your technical knowledge to perform maintenance, repair, and installation tasks in line with engineering standards and operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the design, assembly, installation, and testing of mechanical systems.
Conduct inspections to identify mechanical issues and implement solutions.
Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical manuals.
Support the fabrication, modification, and optimization of mechanical components and systems.
Work collaboratively with engineers, technicians, and production teams to achieve operational goals.
Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards in all activities.
About you
Certification and Experience: You hold a relevant certification in Mechanical Engineering (Diploma) and bring substantial hands-on experience in maintenance fitting, electrical systems, or engineering support, ideally within manufacturing, agrifood, timber, agricultural, steel fabrication, energy, or food processing environments.
Technical Skills: You possess solid technical skills in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical and electrical systems. You have experience with preventive maintenance, and you’re skilled in reading and interpreting technical blueprints and schematics.
Soft Skills: With excellent communication, time management, and multitasking abilities, you work well both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Adaptability and Learning: You’re a proactive learner who embraces new technologies and is always looking for ways to enhance efficiency and reliability in your work.
Licenses and Certifications: You hold a valid driver's license, and additional certifications such as a forklift license, elevated work platform certification, or confined space certification are a plus.
Conduct regular preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
Diagnose faults and perform timely repairs on mechanical systems, hydraulic and pneumatic components.
Dismantle, inspect, and replace defective parts, ensuring all machines are returned to service efficiently.
Collaborate with production teams to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work performed, parts used, and time spent.
Adhere to health and safety guidelines, conducting risk assessments where necessary.
Monitor machine performance and identify opportunities for improvements in reliability and efficiency.
Key responsibilities - Electrician
Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, equipment, and components in accordance with regulations and safety standards.
Diagnose electrical issues, troubleshoot, and perform necessary repairs to ensure optimal system performance.
Interpret blueprints, diagrams, and technical specifications to determine wiring layouts and component configurations.
Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical systems, wiring, and controls.
Work collaboratively with maintenance and production teams to address electrical needs and ensure minimal downtime.
Maintain detailed records of work performed, including repairs, installations, and inspections.
Follow safety protocols strictly to ensure a safe working environment and compliance with industry standards.
Key responsibilities - Electrical Engineering Technicians

Conduct routine and preventive maintenance on electrical systems, identifying issues before they lead to significant downtime.
Install and calibrate electrical equipment, ensuring it operates within required specifications.
Troubleshoot electrical systems and equipment to diagnose and resolve issues in a timely manner.
Document technical procedures, results, and configurations, maintaining records of equipment specifications and repair history.
Work closely with engineers to support new installations, upgrades, and modifications to electrical systems.
Ensure compliance with safety and industry standards during installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting processes.

Additional information
Roles involve standard Monday to Friday schedules or shift work for 24 hour plants, with optional weekend and on-call duties
