The Opportunity

We currently have a fantastic opportunity available for an experienced Maintenance Planner to join our dedicated team on a permanent full time basis. The Maintenance Planner will coordinate and manage the planning of all maintenance activities at Lipa Pharmaceuticals to ensure equipment reliability, operational efficiency, and compliance with GMP standards.

Collaborating closely with maintenance and production teams, the Maintenance Planner develops and schedules preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance tasks, prepares detailed work plans, and ensures that all required documentation, resources, and materials are in place for timely and effective execution across manufacturing assets and supporting facilities

Responsibilities

  • Develop, schedule, and coordinate preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance tasks across all manufacturing and support assets.

  • Prepare detailed work plans including scope, labour, tools, materials, permits, and estimated duration for each maintenance activity.

  • Maintain and update maintenance records and work orders in the CMMS (e.g. MEX).

  • Coordinate with Production and Operations teams to schedule maintenance with minimal disruption to manufacturing.

  • Manage spare parts and materials, including stocktaking, inventory control, ordering, and follow-up on purchase orders (POs).

  • Receive deliveries, check items against orders, and ensure proper storage of materials and spare parts.

  • Liaise with suppliers to obtain quotes, negotiate terms, and ensure timely delivery of required parts and materials.

  • Monitor equipment history and failure data to identify recurring issues and recommend reliability improvements.

  • Track and report key maintenance KPl's such as preventive maintenance compliance, backlog, MTBF, and MTTR.

  • Support shutdowns, capital projects, and other major maintenance activities by preparing and coordinating required plans.

  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety, WHS policies, GMP requirements, and site procedures.

  • Liaise with contractors and external service providers to ensure timely and quality execution of outsourced maintenance work.

Our ideal candidate

  • Previous experience in a similar role within a manufacturing facility, ideally in a pharmaceutical or GMP-regulated environment.

  • Strong understanding of GMP-regulated environments and supplier quality requirements

  • Understanding of manufacturing machinery, reliability systems and engineering standards.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office and CMMS software, preferably MEX.

  • Extensive experience monitoring and producing maintenance schedules incorporating maintenance hours, service estimates and component replacement.

  • Proven sourcing and supplier negotiation skills, including international sourcing

  • Strong communication skills and ability to liaise with different departments and external contractors.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work in cleanroom and workshop environments.

  • Familiarity with safety and compliance regulations in an industrial setting

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team

  • A technical certificate in Mechanics or Engineering experience preferred (Desirable)
