Reporting to the Head of Engineering & Asset Performance, the Packhouse Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading the Packhouse maintenance function, ensuring plant and equipment operate safely, efficiently, and reliably to support production requirements.
You will oversee preventative and corrective maintenance activities, manage contractors, coordinate improvement projects, and lead a skilled maintenance team to achieve operational excellence.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead, mentor and develop the Packhouse Maintenance team.
Manage day-to-day maintenance operations and contractor performance.
Ensure equipment breakdowns are responded to promptly and effectively.
Monitor preventative maintenance schedules to maximise equipment reliability.
Work closely with the Maintenance Planner to prioritise work orders and maintenance activities.
Collaborate with Packhouse Operations to minimise downtime and improve performance.
Utilise Dynaway CMMS to monitor maintenance activities, breakdown trends and spare parts usage.
Identify, develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimise Packhouse efficiency.
Manage maintenance and capital projects from planning through to completion.
Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.
Promote a strong safety culture through risk assessments, hazard identification and compliance activities.
Drive team performance through coaching, training and development.
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
Experience in a maintenance leadership, supervisory or engineering role within manufacturing, food production, engineering, or a similar industrial environment.
Strong experience managing maintenance teams and external contractors.
Proven experience in plant and equipment maintenance, fault finding, repairs and reliability improvement.
Excellent planning, organisational and problem-solving skills.
Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
A commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement.
Experience with PLC, SCADA and AutoCAD systems will be highly regarded.
