Electrical Estimator

White Rhino Switchboards is seeking an experienced Electrical Switchboard Estimator to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated professional with a strong technical background in low-voltage switchboards and electrical distribution systems.

You will play a critical role in reviewing tender documentation, preparing accurate quotations, liaising with customers and suppliers, and supporting the successful delivery of commercial and industrial switchboard projects.

• Review electrical drawings, specifications, and tender documentation.

• Prepare accurate and competitive switchboard quotations and cost estimates.

• Interpret single-line diagrams, schematics, and project specifications.

• Liaise with customers, consultants, contractors, and suppliers throughout the quotation process.

• Source and price switchboard components, busbar systems, protection devices, and ancillary equipment.

• Identify technical and commercial risks within project tenders.

• Provide technical support to customers and internal stakeholders.

• Assist with project handovers to the engineering and production teams.

To be considered for this role, applicants must have proven experience estimating electrical switchboards and demonstrate a strong understanding of:

Candidates should have a minimum of 1-2 years experience in electrical switchboard estimating, or alternatively have experience building/manufacturing switchboards in Victoria.

• Low Voltage Electrical Switchboards

• AS/NZS 3000 – Wiring Rules

• AS/NZS 61439 – Low-voltage switchgear and controlgear assemblies

• Victorian Service and Installation Rules (VSIRs)

• Electrical distribution systems, protection coordination, and fault level requirements

• Reading and interpreting electrical drawings and specifications

• Australian citizenship or permanent residency is required for this position.

Additionally, you will possess:

• Previous experience in switchboard manufacturing, design, estimating, or project delivery.

• Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and estimating software.

• Ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines simultaneously.

• Electrical Trade Qualification and/or Electrical Engineering qualification.

• Experience with commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects.

• Knowledge of switchboard testing and compliance requirements.
