Role Highlights

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to

  • Lead mechanical design to align with project objectives and standards 

  • Ensure compliant, maintainable assets across all environments 

  • Provide technical expertise and review engineering deliverables 

  • Manage RFIs, risks, and engineering documentation 

  • Support tenders, manage consultants, and engage stakeholders 

  • Lead design reviews and ensure actions are closed out

What Makes You a Great Fit

As a technically credible and influential engineering leader you can manage complexity, drive alignment, and ensure high-quality, compliant mechanical outcomes through collaborative, accountable and respectful leadership, in a stakeholder-heavy environment.

You’ll also bring:

  • Degree in mechanical engineering, and a minimum of 10 to 15 years’ experience in the delivery of mining and/or industrial projects.

  • Experienced in the design, construction, and maintenance of mechanical and materials handling assets.

  • Strong experience in analysing conveyor systems to evaluate effectiveness.

  • Experience with the design, operation and maintenance of balanced machines such as stackers and grab unloaders.

  • Experienced in writing specifications and technical reports.

  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.

  • Detailed knowledge of statutory requirements and national standards associated with the design, approval and development of mechanical assets.

Highly desirable skills:

  • Owner's team or owner's engineer experience highly desirable

  • Chartered Engineer, or eligible for Chartered Engineer registration.

  • Knowledge of Port operations and mechanical infrastructure.

  • Experience with mechanical installations within Hazardous Areas
