The Analyst – Civil Engineer role is an entry level technical position which supports primarily internal TBH technical teams by assisting Project Managers and the broader team to prepare outputs and meet project deliverables.

Task & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the planning and delivery of project plans, supporting the coordination of project activities and timelines under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Contribute to design development by preparing technical drawings, documentation and specifications, and recommending appropriate construction methods, materials and quality standards.
  • Support project execution by liaising with internal teams and contractors, assisting with resource scheduling, and monitoring progress against project plans.
  • Participate in technical investigations and assessments to collect and analyse data that informs design decisions and ensures safe and effective project outcomes.
  • Assist in cost estimation and budget monitoring, including reviewing project documentation and supporting the assessment and documentation of design changes and variations.
  • Contribute to engineering analysis and design validation, working with senior engineers to ensure structures and systems meet performance, safety and compliance requirements.
  • Support planning and design activities through data analysis and preparation of technical inputs to meet current and future project requirements.
  • Review, interpret and analyse data from various records and present findings in various formats based on project requirements. Handle all information with the necessary sensitivity, privacy and confidentiality.
  • Assist with preparation of deliverables for client submissions, including completing a high quality analysis, writing reports and preparing any other project outputs.
  • In liaison with the project team/Project Director apply industry best practice project controls methodologies to identify and solve problems, pursuing efficient and innovative solutions when possible.

Planning & Scheduling

  • Supporting the development of a schedule from a set of construction drawings.
  • Supporting the project team with updating progress and agreements of resequencing with stakeholders to mitigate slippage.
  • Supporting the project team with validation/assessment of schedules received from 3rd parties. This includes confirming critical path, logic errors, scope omissions.
  • Supporting the development of integrated master schedules with dynamic interdependencies between sub projects in separate programmes.
  • Supporting cost loaded schedule development and maintenance.
  • Supporting resource loaded schedule development (including levelling).
  • Under the guidance and instruction of the project team, develop basis of schedule and other related schedule quality/management documentation.
  • Develop knowledge and ability to contribute to design programming, integrated baseline review (Defence industry specific) and shutdown detailed programming.

Qualification & experience

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Qualifications: minimum of graduate certificate or bachelor's degree in relevant field, such as Engineering, Construction, Project Management, Quantity Surveying, Architecture or Business / Commerce.
  • At least 1-3 years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrate beginner to intermediate skills of technical software used by TBH and suite of TBH programs.
  • Experience using Microsoft applications and software (desirable).
  • Strong communication (written, verbal and presentation) skills
  • Demonstrated experience in problem solving within a work and/or academic environment.
  • The ability to work autonomously and as a member of an integrated team.
  • Strong work organisation and time management skills.
  • General awareness and knowledge of project management and project controls principles (desirable).
