This role involves applying chemical engineering principles to environmental and industrial treatment systems, including process modelling, pilot plant commissioning, process optimisation and sustainable resource recovery solutions. The position forms part of our multidisciplinary engineering and sustainability advisory team supporting innovative circular economy and renewable energy projects.
Key Responsibilities
· Develop, optimise and evaluate advanced water and wastewater treatment processes including chemical and biological treatment systems.
· Conduct technical analysis, process modelling, feasibility assessments and performance evaluations to improve operational efficiency and resource recovery outcomes.
· Support the design, commissioning and scale-up of pilot and full-scale environmental treatment technologies.
· Assist in the delivery and management of projects relating to biogas, anaerobic digestion, resource recovery and sustainable process technologies.
· Analise operational and process data, prepare technical reports and maintain engineering documentation and project deliverables.
· Contribute to risk assessments, process safety management and regulatory compliance activities in accordance with relevant Australian standards and environmental legislation.
· Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to provide technical expertise and support project delivery outcomes.
· Engage with clients, regulators, stakeholders and industry partners throughout project development and implementation.
· Support research and development initiatives relating to circular economy solutions, renewable energy production and emerging environmental technologies.
Selection Criteria
Essential:
· Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
· Demonstrated experience (minimum 1–3 years) in chemical, environmental or process engineering roles.
· Experience with water, wastewater or resource recovery treatment systems.
· Knowledge of process modelling, treatment technologies and process optimisation methodologies.
· Understanding of Australian environmental regulations and engineering standards.
· Strong analytical, technical reporting and problem-solving skills.
· High level of communication skills in English.
Desirable:
· Experience with anaerobic digestion, biogas or renewable energy systems.
· Exposure to pilot plant operations or process commissioning activities.
· Experience with feasibility studies or engineering design projects.
· Familiarity with circular economy and sustainability initiatives.
· Experience working with multidisciplinary or multicultural teams.
· Additional language skills such as German, Portuguese or Spanish.
