Electrical Engineer Techncian

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineering Technician to support electrical engineering design, installation, testing, and maintenance activities across solar PV and electrical infrastructure projects.

The role involves assisting engineers in the preparation of technical designs, documentation, system analysis, and field support to ensure successful project delivery in compliance with Australian Standards and project specifications.

This position aligns with Electrical Engineering Technician position, involving technical support in the design, testing, operation, and maintenance of electrical systems.

Task & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the design, development, and implementation of electrical and solar PV systems 
• Prepare and update technical drawings including single line diagrams, schematics, and layout drawings 
• Support engineers in electrical calculations including load assessments, cable sizing, and system performance analysis 
• Assist in installation supervision, testing, and commissioning of electrical and solar systems 
• Maintain project documentation including equipment lists, material schedules, and technical reports 
• Conduct site inspections and assist in troubleshooting electrical systems 
• Coordinate with engineers, electricians, contractors, and project managers 
• Support quality assurance, safety compliance, and project delivery timelines 
• Assist in preparation of technical documentation for project reporting and approvals 

Qualification & experience

Essential Requirements

• At-least Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Electrical Engineering / Electrical Technology / Renewable Energy Systems or related field 
• Minimum 1 years of relevant industry experience in electrical or solar PV systems 
• Strong understanding of electrical fundamentals, installation practices, and system design 
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical specifications 
• Experience with CAD or electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, PowerCAD or similar) 
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills 
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and follow engineering instructions 
• Good communication skills and ability to coordinate with site and office teams 

Desirable Skills

• Experience in solar PV design and installation projects 
• Knowledge of battery storage systems and hybrid energy systems 
• Experience in construction or renewable energy project environments 
• Exposure to commissioning and testing procedures for electrical systems 
• Understanding of WHS (Work Health and Safety) requirements in Australia
