Telecommunications Technical Officer or Technologist

The successful candidate will support the design, installation, maintenance, optimisation, and troubleshooting of telecommunications and wireless communication systems while ensuring projects are delivered to high technical and safety standards.

Task & responsibilities

Install, maintain, repair, and diagnose faults in telecommunications and wireless communication systems

Configure and integrate telecommunications networks, hardware, software, and related systems

Assist with system design, technical support, commissioning, and implementation activities

Monitor network performance and troubleshoot technical issues and system faults

Conduct site surveys, testing, inspections, and technical assessments

Prepare technical reports, documentation, drawings, and maintenance records

Support microwave, radio, telemetry, satellite, fibre optic, WLAN, LAN, and IP communication systems

Liaise with suppliers, contractors, clients, and project stakeholders

Ensure compliance with technical specifications, workplace safety standards, and quality procedures

Provide ongoing operational and technical support to customers and internal teams

Qualification & experience

Relevant qualification in Telecommunications, Electronics, Networking, or related field

1 year or more experience in telecommunications, wireless communications, networking, or technical support preferred

Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills

Knowledge of telecommunications systems, radio networks, fibre optics, microwave or IP networking technologies
