Electrical Engineer

RJ & RL PTY LTD T/A Power Phaze are currently seeking a qualified and motivated Electrical Engineer to join our engineering team in Western Australia. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering electrical engineering design, documentation, compliance, and project coordination across industrial and infrastructure projects.

Task & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review electrical engineering designs including Single Line Diagrams, Schematics, Termination Drawings, Block Diagrams, General Arrangement Drawings, and Cable Schedules.

• Develop and maintain technical documentation including Equipment Lists, Instrument Lists, Bills of Materials, and engineering reports.

• Perform electrical studies and calculations including Arc Flash Calculations, Earthing Studies, Cable Sizing, Load Calculations, Heat Calculations, and Power Studies.

• Ensure all electrical designs comply with applicable Australian Standards including AS/NZS3000, AS/NZS3008, AS/NZS5033, and AS/NZS61439.

• Coordinate with drafting teams, project engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated engineering solutions.

• Review vendor drawings and technical documentation to ensure design accuracy and project compliance.

• Participate in project meetings with clients and internal stakeholders to discuss engineering requirements, optimisation, and project progress.

• Assist in preparation of engineering specifications, technical assessments, and tender evaluations for design and construction works.

• Support manufacturing, installation, and commissioning teams by providing technical guidance and engineering support.

• Manage technical queries, redline markups, and project documentation throughout project delivery stages.

Qualification & experience

Essential Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related qualification with at-least 3 years of local industry experience.

• Demonstrated experience in electrical engineering design within industrial, infrastructure, mining, or renewable energy projects.

• Knowledge and experience working with Australian Standards relevant to electrical engineering.

• Experience using electrical engineering software such as PowerCAD, Elek Cable Calculation, Cableizer, or similar.

• Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience in switchboard design and compliance assessment.

• Experience in renewable energy, mining, port infrastructure, or industrial projects.

• Understanding of LV and HV electrical systems and protection coordination.
