Civil Engineering Technician

Codmah Pty Ltd is seeking experienced Civil Engineering Technician to join their team on a full-time basis.

The Civil Engineering Technician supports project engineers and construction teams in the planning, execution, monitoring, and documentation of civil works, with a strong focus on microtunnelling, trenchless installations, and associated underground services infrastructure.

Key responsabilities:

• Assist in the setup, monitoring, and operation of microtunnelling and trenchless construction works, including launch and reception shaft activities.
• Support engineers in interpreting microtunnelling alignment data, drive parameters, jacking forces, thrust loads, and tolerances.
• Conduct site inspections to verify works comply with approved designs, specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements.
• Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, surveyors, and suppliers to ensure smooth delivery of works.
• Monitor and record microtunnelling performance data such as line and level accuracy, spoil removal rates, lubrication usage, and ground conditions.
• Assist with quality control checks for installed pipelines, including dimensional verification, jointing inspections, and compliance with design tolerances.
• Participate in the preparation of microtunnelling method statements, risk assessments, and work procedures.
• Support troubleshooting of ground conditions, settlement risks, and equipment performance during tunnelling operations.
• Assist with integration of microtunnelled services into broader civil works, including service connections, pits, shafts, and surface reinstatement.
• Maintain daily site records and reports specific to trenchless works, including photographic records and progress tracking.

Skills and experience required

• Strong technical understanding of civil construction and tunnelling practices, 
• Diploma or degree related to engineering or construction
• Minimum of 3 years related employment experience
• Familiarity with surveying methods, alignment control, and quality assurance processes.
• Effective communication skills for coordination with engineers, site teams, and stakeholders.
