Program Details

This is the perfect opportunity for students who want to transition from theory to practice and move from a book-heavy routine to a hands-on, practical environment for a year. After completing the year, you can return to school with invaluable experiences, knowledge, and networks. You might even pick up some Australian accent in your English.

Location: The program is divided into one seven month and six-month phase: the first half in Sweden and the second half in sunny Australia.

What You'll Do

As a participant in our student program, you'll work closely with our support teams in our Medical IT business area. Your tasks will range from receiving and registering customer cases to troubleshooting and solving technical problems alongside our experienced engineers.

We prioritize your willingness and ability to learn and take on new tasks quickly, utilize previous experiences, and rapidly understand new information. A strong analytical mindset is also crucial. Additionally, we seek good communicators who can interact effectively, clearly, and constructively with colleagues, partners, and customers.

In addition to these abilities, we expect you to:

  • Currently study something within the area of engineering, computer science, IT, or decided that you want to study within this area.
  • Be ready to commit to a full year (13 months) with Sectra
  • Be fluent in Swedish and English
  • Be curious about technology with quick learning ability and sharp thinking
  • Have a good sense of humor and an appreciation for coffee or tea

We consider it a great asset if you:

  • Have experience within the area of technology
  • Can speak more languages than those mentioned above
Other information

The program runs on a rotating schedule with two annual start options, aligned with the school year: a summer start and a winter start.

  • The summer start begins around mid‑June in Sweden, with travel in early February and the ANZ placement running from early February to early August.
  • The winter start begins around late January in Sweden, with travel in early August and the ANZ placement running from early August to early February.

To start the program in January, the application deadline is in September. For a June start, the deadline is in March. Upon joining, you'll commit to a 13-month contract period. We recruit on an ongoing basis. This means we encourage you to apply or contact us as soon as possible.
