LIBRARY ASSISTANT

• Permanent Part-time (3 days per week, ideally Tuesday to Thursday) position with free onsite parking.

About the role

Primary responsibilities include:

• Process, catalogue, and shelve library resources and new acquisitions.
• Respond to enquiries at the library desk, by phone, or email
• Assist users in navigating library services, databases, and online resources.
• Support staff and students in locating physical and electronic library materials efficiently.
• Help users with common access issues.

Selection Criteria for permanent full-time role

Qualifications and Professional Standing:

• Relevant post-secondary qualification or equivalent experience/training in a Library related field.

Essential:

• Committed Christian involved in a local congregation.
• Experience working in a Library Assistant role or equivalent would be an advantage.
• Experience in a higher education setting (or equivalent) would be an advantage.
• Basic understanding of higher education practices and library/administrative processes.
• Competent in common desktop applications to support daily tasks and simple reporting.
• Effective oral and written communication skills for routine interaction with staff and students.
• Able to organize workload, follow instructions, and meet set deadlines.
• Full Australian Working Rights.
