Are you a friendly, organised and proactive Library Aide who loves creating welcoming spaces for young learners? Do you enjoy nurturing curiosity, confidence and a lifelong love of reading? This could be the perfect role for you.

This is an opportunity for a fixed-term, part-time (0.4 FTE) Library Aide to join our Junior School team from 13 July 2026 to 4 December 2026 (2 days per week - possibility of permanency).

Our library is the heart of learning in the Junior School. As a Library Aide, you play a vital role in fostering a love of reading, supporting inquiry, and creating a warm, inviting space where students feel inspired to explore and learn.
Working closely with the Teacher Librarian, you will help bring the library to lifesupporting both students and staff while nurturing a positive reading culture across the school.

What You’ll Do

• Support daily library operations, including borrowing and returning resources
• Shelve, organise and maintain library collections
• Assist students in selecting books and developing a love of reading
• Create engaging book displays and themed library experiences
• Assist with lessons, activities and library events
• Process and manage new resources
• Maintain a welcoming, organised and functional library space
• Support stocktakes and audits

What You’ll Bring

• A genuine love of literature and enthusiasm for promoting reading
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Confidence using library systems (Oliver experience desirable)
• Ability to prioritise and manage competing tasks
• Relevant Library Aide/Technician qualifications (desirable)
• Eligibility to hold a Blue Card (Working with Children Check)
