Senior School Teacher (English & Humanities)

Reporting to the Head of Faculty Humanities and Head of Faculty English, the successful applicant will be an energetic and motivated staff member, keen to develop and deliver high-quality teaching programmes within our Senior School for students from Years 7–12, with a focus on Humanities and English. 

This role is Full-time fixed term for 6 months. We want all our staff to develop professionally in a collegial and high-performing culture, dedicated to supporting students to achieve academically, flourish as individuals, and become life-long learners.

The successful candidate will be able to:

• Demonstrate appropriate tertiary qualifications in Secondary Education with classroom experience in Humanities subjects (such as History 7-10, Modern History and/or Social Sciences) as well as English. Experience with teaching IB Diploma History is desirable, but not essential.
• Show the ability to apply effective curriculum and pedagogical development specific to boys’ education
• Demonstrate success in employing engaging and inquiry-based strategies that inspire students in Years 7–12 to think critically about global, historical, and cultural contexts.
• Work effectively within a team and build cooperative relationships with staff, students, and parents.
• Display a willingness to support the spiritual, community, and cocurricular life of the School.
• Hold current working rights for Australia.
• Hold (or be eligible to obtain) registration with the Queensland College of Teachers.
