Assistant Educator – Early Childhood Education & Care

Join Our Friendly Team at Jack and Jill Childcare Centre

Jack and Jill Childcare Centre is seeking a kind, reliable, and enthusiastic Assistant Educator to join our team. We are looking for someone who is fun-loving, compassionate, and passionate about supporting children's learning, growth, and wellbeing.

Whether you are already qualified or looking to begin a rewarding career in early childhood education, we offer full on-the-job training and ongoing professional development opportunities.

About Us

Jack and Jill Childcare Centre is a family-owned and operated service located beside the beautiful New Farm Park. We are a small, close-knit centre catering for children aged 15 months to school age across three learning environments.

Our centre features two large, leafy outdoor play spaces designed to encourage exploration, creativity, and active learning. We pride ourselves on creating a warm, supportive environment for both children and educators.

About the Role

As an Assistant Educator, you will work closely with our experienced team to provide high-quality care and educational experiences for children. You will help create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where children can thrive.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a genuine passion for working with children

  • Is caring, patient, and enthusiastic

  • Works well as part of a team

  • Is committed to supporting children's development and learning

  • Is eager to learn and grow professionally

Qualifications and Training

A Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care is preferred; however, we welcome applications from individuals who are interested in studying towards this qualification.

All required training, including First Aid and other industry requirements, can be completed through our workplace-based training program. Study is undertaken during work hours at the service, with no external classroom attendance required. A qualified trainer will provide regular on-site support and guidance throughout your studies.

Career Development Opportunities

We are committed to supporting the long-term growth of our educators. For motivated team members, this role can provide a pathway to further qualifications, including a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care or a Bachelor of Education, leading to future opportunities in leadership and teaching roles.

What We Offer

  • Full on-the-job training and mentoring

  • Paid study opportunities completed during work hours

  • A supportive and welcoming team environment

  • Career progression pathways

  • Two weeks off over the Christmas break

  • The opportunity to work in a beautiful location next to New Farm Park

Working Hours

This position requires flexibility to work a minimum of 24 hours per week on a rotating roster between 6:45am and 6:00pm, Monday to Friday.
