Support Timings: 9.30 AM - 6.30 PM

Required: Male Support Workers ONLY

 1. Position Purpose 

The Support Worker is responsible for delivering high-quality, person-centered supports to participants under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). The role focuses on enabling individuals with disabilities to achieve their goals, enhance independence, and participate meaningfully in their community. 

Support Workers provide assistance with daily living, personal care, and community engagement in line with individualized support plans and organisational values. 

2. Responsibilities 

Participant Support & Care 

  • Deliver person-centered support in accordance with participant care plans  

  • Assist with activities of daily living including prepping of breakfast/lunch, general cleaning of kitchen, making bed and assisting with client’s physio exercises. 

Documentation & Reporting 

  • Maintain accurate and timely case notes, incident reports, and progress updates  

  • Report changes in participant needs, risks, or behaviors to supervisors  

Health, Safety & Compliance 

  • Adhere to all organisational policies, procedures, and NDIS Practice Standards  

  • Follow safe work practices, including manual handling and infection control  

  • Participate in training and relevant activities 

 2.5 Team Collaboration 

  • Work collaboratively with rostering officers, families and other colleagues when required 

3. Requirements: 

Essential 

  • Current First Aid & CPR certification  

  • Valid Working With Children Check (WWCC) and NDIS Worker Screening Check  

  • Current driver’s license and reliable vehicle  

  • Must be able to drive to Vaucluse or live nearby

  • Minimum 6 months or above experience

  • Good fluent English

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills  

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and sleepovers  

Desirable 

  • Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability, or equivalent 

  • Knowledge of NDIS framework and participant-directed care  

  • Experience with manual handling and assistive equipment
