At ASHREE SERVICES PTY LTD, the Child Care Worker plays an important role in supporting the delivery of high-quality education and care for children attending the service. The position is responsible for assisting in the implementation of engaging educational programs aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and supporting compliance with the National Quality Standard (NQS). Working collaboratively with educators, families, and management, the Child Care Worker contributes to creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where children can learn, develop, and thrive.


Benefits

– Salary: AU$  75,000.00 to 85,000.00 + superannuation


Task & responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of materials, equipment, and learning environments for children's educational and recreational activities.
  • Support the implementation of play-based learning experiences appropriate to children's age and developmental stages.
  • Prepare and conduct activities for children under the direction of qualified educators and centre procedures.
  • Encourage children's participation in educational, creative, and recreational activities.
  • Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities to ensure their safety and wellbeing.
  • Assist in managing children's behaviour and support their social and emotional development through positive guidance strategies.
  • Support children's daily routines, including meals, rest periods, toileting, hygiene, and transitions throughout the day.
  • Observe children's behaviour, interests, and development and report observations to supervising educators.
  • Assist in maintaining records and documentation relating to children's wellbeing and daily activities.
  • Support inclusive practices and encourage respect for diversity, cultural awareness, and individual differences.
  • Provide a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children.
  • Maintain adequate supervision of children at all times and fulfil duty of care responsibilities.
  • Follow centre policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements relating to children's health, safety, and wellbeing.
  • Comply with child protection policies, mandatory reporting obligations, and Child Safe Standards.
  • Promote children's health and wellbeing through appropriate hygiene practices, nutrition support, physical activity, and safe routines.
  • Administer first aid and medication in accordance with centre procedures and authorised instructions.
  • Assist in identifying and reporting hazards, incidents, injuries, and safety concerns.
  • Establish and maintain positive and respectful relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
  • Communicate with families regarding children's daily routines, activities, and wellbeing.
  • Assist with cleaning, maintaining, and organising learning environments, equipment, and resources.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities as required.
  • Contribute positively to a cooperative and supportive team environment.

Qualification & experience

The minimum requirements for the position are: 

  • A Certificate III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care (or a higher qualification).
  • Current Working with Children Check (WWCC).
  • At least 12 months of proven experience working with children aged 0–6 years in an early childhood education setting.
