The Lead Educator will be responsible for leading daily classroom activities, supporting children’s learning and development.

• Planning, implementing and evaluating developmentally appropriate educational programs for children
• Supervising and supporting children in daily routines, play based learning and social development activities
• Creating a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment
• Observing children’s behaviour and development and maintaining accurate records and reports
• Supporting children’s emotional wellbeing, communication skills and positive behaviour
• Ensuring compliance with early childhood regulations, policies and health and safety procedures
• Assisting with the preparation of learning materials and classroom activities
• Building positive relationships with parents, carers and team members
• Supervising and mentoring educators and assistant staff within the room
• Participating in team meetings, training sessions and continuous improvement initiatives
• Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of learning environments and resources
A Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care or a closely related qualification
At least 12 months of relevant full time work experience in early childhood education or child care services
Knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework and National Quality Standards
Strong communication, leadership and organisational skills
Current Working with Children Check and First Aid qualifications or ability to obtain them
Commitment to providing high quality care and education for children
