Civil Engineering Draftsperson

We are seeking a detail-oriented Civil Engineering Draftsperson to create technical drawings and plans for temporary structures, rigging layouts, and staging solutions. The ideal candidate will work closely with our sales teams on pre-sales, quotes and tender submissions, to present detailed layouts for stage design, lighting rigs and truss systems, and speaker and screen placements, ensuring the business meet safety standards and regulatory requirements.

The role will also be reviewing our multiple warehouse layouts, across Australia, for optimisation of space. This includes storage systems for truss, cables, and cases; Packing configurations for transport and Truck loading plans.

Benefits

Salary: $76,515 to $90,000 plus Super depending on experience

Task & responsibilities

•    Prepare detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings for rigging structures, staging, and event installations.

•    Develop and modify engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation for approval and construction.

•    Work collaboratively with engineers, designers, and production teams to interpret technical requirements and project specifications.

•    Ensure compliance with industry standards, building codes, and safety regulations related to temporary event structures.

•    Conduct structural analysis under the guidance of engineers to ensure the stability and safety of rigging and staging setups.

•    Revise drawings based on feedback from engineers, clients, and regulatory authorities.

•    Assist in site planning and layout coordination for event installations.

•    Maintain an organized library of drawings, blueprints, and engineering documents.

•    Provide technical support as and when required by the sales team.

•    Assist with optimisation of warehouse spaces

Qualification & experience

•    Relevant Engineering Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Associate Degree or higher

•    At least 1 year of relevant work experience

•    Proven track record of successfully managing construction projects on time and within budget.

•    Strong understanding of engineering principles, construction methods and materials

•    Proficiency in engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit) and project management tools.

•    Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and creatively.

•    Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
