Planning & Resource Manager (Estimating, Customer Management, Delivery)

A specialist engineering and manufacturing business based on the Northern Beaches is looking for a hands-on Production Planning & Resource Manager to help manage workshop jobs from quoting & estimating, planning and scheduling, production, delivery and invoicing.

This role would suit someone from a machine shop, mechanical workshop, fabrication, manufacturing, or engineering background looking for a job on the beaches. No travel required. 

What You’ll Be Doing: 

• Manage customer requests from initial enquiry through to quote, order, delivery and invoicing. 
• Review technical requirements and help price up labour, parts, materials and supplier costs for new and existing jobs, all while communicating with both internal and external stakeholders. 
• Prepare quotes and estimates for mechanical, workshop, repair, service and manufacturing-related work (rotational capital equipment). 
• Coordinate purchase orders, supplier orders, customer orders and job documentation.
• Work closely with production, quality, logistics and engineering teams.
• Track parts, materials, supplier updates, customer requirements and job costs.
• Help improve planning, workflow, communication and delivery performance.

• Experience in a manufacturing, machine shop, mechanical, fabrication or workshop environment.
• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering and how something is built.
• An interest in planning, scheduling, quoting or estimating labour, parts, materials and supplier costs.
• Good communication skills with customers, suppliers and internal teams.
• Strong organisation skills and the ability to manage multiple jobs at once.
• ERP, MRP, job management or inventory system experience would be useful.
• A practical, no-nonsense approach and the ability to spot issues early.
