We are seeking an experienced and reliable Multi-Skilled Construction Tradesperson with expertise in one trade and experience in at least one more of the following areas:
Bricklaying
Carpentry
Wall and Floor Tiling
Painting and Decorating
Civil Engineering Drafting
Building Construction Supervisor
The successful applicant will work on residential, commercial, and civil construction projects across Western Australia.
Bricklayers-
Laying bricks, pre-cut stone, concrete blocks, and other masonry materials in mortar
Constructing and repairing walls, partitions, arches, fireplaces, and other structures
Reading plans and determining materials required for construction
Checking vertical and horizontal alignment using levels and plumb lines
Carpentry-
Studying drawings and specifications to determine materials, dimensions, and installation procedures
Constructing, erecting, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures made of timber, plywood, wallboard, and other materials
Installing frameworks, flooring systems, doors, windows, and cabinetry
Operating woodworking machines and hand/power tools safely
Constructs and installs structures such as walls, flooring systems, external stairs, panelling and partitions using mechanical fasteners such as nails, screws and brackets
Repairs and renovates wooden structures, including by removing and replacing damaged or deteriorated timber
May construct and install formwork for concrete structures
Wall and Floor Tilers-
Preparing wall and floor surfaces by removing old tiles, filling holes, and levelling surfaces
Examine plans, measuring and marking surfaces for tile layout
Cutting, shaping, and laying tiles to design specifications
Spread adhesives onto prepared surfaces and tiles and setting tiles in position.
Applying grout and waterproofing materials
Ensuring alignment and spacing
Create patterns like Mosaic/coloured tile
Lay Granolithic/terrazzo floors
Painting Trade worker-
Preparing surfaces by scraping sanding, patching, and cleaning
Applying paints, varnishes, stains, and protective coatings using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment
Prepare surface for fresh paint by removing old paint or wallpaper, filling holes and cracks and making the surface smooth.
Matching and mixing colours.
Repair windows and glass in wooden and metal frames.
Erecting scaffolding and ladders, placing drop sheets to protect adjacent areas from paint splattering and ensuring safe work practices
Civil Engineering Technician-
Preparing sketches and tables
Conduct tests of construction materials
estimating material costs and ensuring finished works are within specifications, regulations and contract provisions
Building Construction Supervisor-
Supervise construction sites
Organize and coordinate the material and human resources required.
Inspect work and material for compliance with specifications, regulations and standards.
Depending upon the skills you have, the required industry experience or qualifications will be needed.
Bricklaying-(331112) Cert 4 or 3 years of experience
Carpentry-( 331212) Cert 4 or 3 years of experience
Wall and Floor Tiling-( 333411) Cert 4 or 3 years of experience
Painting and Decorating- (332211) Cert 4 or 3 years of experience
Civil Engineering Technician-(312212) Diploma or Advance Diploma or 3 years of experience
Building Construction Supervisor (312112)- Diploma or Advance Diploma or 3 years of experience
Demonstrated experience in at least two of the above trade areas
Relevant trade qualification and/or industry experience
Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
Knowledge of Australian building standards and WHS requirements
Strong communication and teamwork skills
White Card mandatory
Driver’s licence preferred
