$80,000 - $90,000 Annual

The Carpenter (Formwork) will be responsible for constructing, installing, and dismantling formwork structures for residential, commercial, and civil construction projects, interpreting construction drawings and specifications, measuring and cutting materials, assembling timber and framework components, assisting with concrete pours, and ensuring all carpentry work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with WHS requirements.

Task & responsibilities

  • Read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications
  • Measure, cut, shape, and assemble timber and other materials required for formwork structures
  • Install bracing, frameworks, edge boards, suspended slabs, columns, and temporary supports
  • Assist with concrete pours and ensure formwork is prepared to required specifications
  • Set out works according to project plans and site measurements
  • Inspect completed structures to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance with project requirements
  • Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
  • Coordinate material requirements and maintain organised work areas on site
  • Maintain compliance with Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) regulations and company procedures
  • Work collaboratively with site supervisors, steelfixers, concreters, and other construction workers

Qualification & experience

  • At least 1-2 years of experience as a Formwork Carpenter in construction projects. 
  • At least Certificate III in a relevant field is preferrable. 
  • Strong understanding of formwork systems (timber, conventional, or modular). 
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings. 
  • Competent with carpentry tools and equipment. 
  • White Card (required). 
  • Reliable, hardworking, and safety-focused
