Are you passionate about supporting young people to build independence, wellbeing, and connection? Do you want to be part of a team making a real difference in the lives of young people experiencing homelessness and disadvantage?

PICYS is seeking a Youth Support Worker to join our PILLAR Program - a specialist mental health and psychosocial support service for young people.

About the Role

In this role, you will provide direct, person-centred support to young people aged 15–25, helping them to navigate challenges, build life skills, and move toward stable and positive futures.

You will manage a caseload, deliver practical and emotional support, and work closely with internal and external stakeholders to achieve meaningful outcomes for young people. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide individualised support to young people, including advocacy, case work, and practical assistance
  • Support young people with housing stability, mental health, education, and employment pathways
  • Deliver workshops, activities, and life skills programs
  • Work collaboratively with community partners and services
  • Maintain accurate case notes, reporting, and data
  • Contribute to program development and continuous improvement

About You

You are a compassionate, proactive, and confident practitioner who can build strong relationships with young people and respond to complex needs.

You will have:

  • Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience in youth work, community services, or related field.
  • Experience working with young people experiencing disadvantage (highly regarded)
  • Strong interpersonal, organisational, and communication skills
  • A growth mindset, with a strong commitment to ongoing learning, and personal and professional development
  • A flexible, team-focused approach
  • A commitment to non-judgemental, strengths-based, trauma-informed practice
  • Lived experience is highly valued.

Requirements

  • Working with Children Check
  • National Police Clearance
  • Valid Driver’s Licence
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Full working rights in Australia

Additional Information

  • The role is full time
  • Based at West Leederville and West Perth locations 
  • Travel is required, PICYS provides work cars
  • Working hours: Monday to Friday 9 - 5pm
