Sports Development Officer (Brazilian Jiu‑Jitsu Specialist)

Gracie Barra Blacktown City – Western Sydney Salary: $77,000 + Superannuation Full‑Time | 38 Hours Per Week

About the Role

Gracie Barra Blacktown City is seeking a dedicated and experienced Sports Development Officer with specialist skills in Brazilian Jiu‑Jitsu to join our team full‑time. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about coaching, community engagement, and helping students of all ages grow through martial arts.

You will play a key role in delivering high‑quality BJJ instruction, developing participation programs, and supporting the long‑term growth of our academy.

Key Responsibilities

·  Deliver structured BJJ classes for kids, teens, and adults

·  Support the development of sports participation and community programs

·  Assist with curriculum delivery across Fundamentals, All Levels, Advanced, and No‑Gi

·  Plan and implement training sessions, drills, and skill‑development activities

·  Mentor students, support belt progression, and prepare athletes for competition

·  Represent the academy at events, seminars, and community outreach initiatives

·  Maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive training environment

About You

We’re looking for someone who brings both technical skill and strong character.

Essential Requirements

·  Brazilian Jiu‑Jitsu Purple Belt or higher

·  Experience teaching BJJ (kids and/or adults)

·  Strong communication and leadership skills

·  Ability to plan and deliver sports development programs

·  Working With Children Check (WWCC)

·  Police Check

·  Reliable, professional, and aligned with GB values

 

 

Desirable

·  Competition experience

·  First Aid/CPR

·  Experience in community engagement or school‑based programs
