About the Role
Goodline is seeking a highly experienced Executive Manager – HSEQ to join our Executive Leadership Team.
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, this role provides enterprise-wide leadership of Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) strategy, governance and performance.
The Executive Manager – HSEQ will lead the organisation’s approach to risk, assurance and continuous improvement, ensuring HSEQ is embedded as a core business driver across all operations.
This role is accountable for setting the strategic direction, strengthening organisational capability and ensuring alignment with Goodline’s zero harm philosophy and HIFOCUS values.
Key Responsibilities
Define and lead the company-wide HSEQ strategy aligned to business objectives
Provide executive oversight of HSEQ governance, risk and assurance frameworks
Drive a high-performance safety culture across all divisions and projects
Lead and support the General Managers and Operational Managers and broader HSEQ function
Ensure full compliance with legislative, regulatory and ISO standards (45001, 14001, 9001)
Act as the senior representative with regulators, clients and external stakeholders
Oversee enterprise risk management and critical risk controls
Champion continuous improvement, innovation and digital transformation in HSEQ systems
Provide regular reporting and insights to the Board and Executive Team on HSEQ performance
Influence operational leadership to integrate HSEQ into all decision-making processes
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Sustained reduction in TRIFR, LTIFR and high-potential incidents
Measurable improvement in organisational safety culture and engagement metrics
Strong audit outcomes and enterprise-wide compliance performance
Effective implementation of integrated HSEQ systems across all divisions
Improved management of critical risks and prevention of major incidents
Timely and effective incident investigation and organisational learning
Positive client, regulator and stakeholder feedback
Capability uplift across HSEQ leadership and operational teams
About You
15+ years’ experience in senior HSEQ leadership roles within construction, mining or oil & gas
Demonstrated success leading HSEQ at an enterprise or executive level
Proven ability to influence at Board and executive level
Strong strategic mindset with the ability to translate strategy into operational outcomes
Deep understanding of risk management, assurance and safety leadership
Experience managing complex, high-risk environments across multi-site operations
Exceptional leadership, communication and stakeholder engagement skills
A visible and authentic leader who drives accountability and cultural change
Willingness to travel nationally
Qualifications
Tertiary qualification in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or relevant discipline
Postgraduate or executive leadership qualifications (highly regarded)
Lead Auditor qualifications (desirable)
Construction Induction Card (mandatory)
Current Driver’s Licence
