We are a growing waste management and recycling company committed to delivering sustainable waste solutions and exceptional customer service. We work with commercial, industrial, and residential clients to reduce environmental impact through efficient collection, recovery, recycling, and resource management services.
The OpportunityWe are seeking an experienced and results-oriented Business Manager to lead and oversee our waste and recycling operations. Reporting to the Company owner, you will be responsible for driving operational performance, business growth, compliance, customer satisfaction, and financial outcomes across the organisation.
This role requires a strong leader who can manage diverse teams, optimise operational processes, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, safety, and profitability.
Key ResponsibilitiesOversee daily business operations, including waste collection, recycling, logistics, and site activities.
Develop and implement business strategies to achieve operational and financial targets.
Manage budgets, financial reporting, forecasting, and cost-control initiatives.
Lead, mentor, and support operational, administrative, and supervisory staff.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, workplace health and safety requirements, and industry standards.
Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers, and regulatory authorities.
Identify new business opportunities and support sales and contract retention activities.
Manage fleet utilisation, resource allocation, and operational planning.
Prepare management reports and provide strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
Proven experience in a Business Manager, General Manager, or similar executive leadership within an industrial industry.
Experience within the waste management, recycling, transport, logistics, environmental services, or related industries is highly desirable.
Strong financial management, budgeting, and commercial acumen.
Demonstrated leadership and people management experience.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
Sound understanding of workplace health and safety and environmental compliance requirements.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and business management systems.
