APS 6 - Finance Business Partners

Indigeco is supporting a major Commonwealth Government in sourcing multiple accounting & finance professionals.

This role is suited to an experienced senior finance professional with strong technical accounting, stakeholder engagement, leadership and reporting experience who can lead key project finance and asset management functions and support high-quality financial decision making.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support business stakeholders to manage the financial resources within their control in the immediate and longer term, ensuring the financial sustainability and sound financial management of their function. 
• Provide quality finance advice on the development and regular reporting of budgets/forecasts, financial performance responsibilities and process improvements in accordance with financial policies.  
• Support business stakeholders on developing and updating monthly financial forecasts including operating and staffing. 
• Provide financial reports to Group Executives, including detailed analyses of monthly financial results. 
• Undertake end of month financial activities by preparing journals and variance commentary for both departmental and administered programs. 
• Undertake cost centre maintenance and budget transfers in response to the business restructures. 
• Provide financial management and budget trainings to the business stakeholders. 

YOUR REQUIREMENTS

• Demonstrated experience in undertaking budget and financial management roles 
• Sound oral and written communications skills including the ability to liaise and engage with business stakeholders 
• Good attention to detail and a strong focus on quality outcomes 
• Good organisation and time managements skills demonstrated by an ability to organise your workload, produce high-quality work, meet deadlines and, where necessary, and escalate issues to senior staff in a timely manner 
• Ability to work with limited supervision in a dynamic and fast-paced environment 
• Positive attitude and a willingness to assist with a range of ad-hoc coordination requests 
• High standards of professional and personal integrity in line with APS Values and the APS Code of Conduct.
